The Dedication of the Chapel

On the Vigil of the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul, June 28 2005 Archbishop Barry James Hickey dedicated the “Redemptoris Mater” Chapel before a large assembly of the Faithful representing all sections of the Catholic Church of Perth. The Rite of Dedication is similar to the Rite of Baptism, because the Chapel represents the living Church, the followers of Christ who in their own Baptism were consecrated to Christ and made Priests, Prophets and Kings. In the Liturgy, were the Baptismal symbols of  water, light, incense, clothing with the white cloth and the anointing with oil. The Relics of Saints and a Blessed were inserted in the Altar. The Liturgy concluded with the celebration of the Eucharist.
