First Ordinations to the Presbyterate
On July 25, 1997 Joseph Pelle and John Hogan were ordained to the Presbyterate by Archbishop Hickey in St Mary’s Cathedral, Perth with a large body of the clergy of the archdiocese as well as from interstate and overseas, and also present the many relatives, friends and public for this historic day.

The newly ordained concelebrate with the Bishops and Presbyters, thus exercising for the first time the power of the Holy Spirit consecrating the bread and wine into the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ.
