Candidacy

Nine seminarians being admitted to Candidacy.

Also known as “Admissio”, it is the simple rite whereby after a few years in the seminary, each seminarian formally requests to become a presbyter to the Archbishop and enter fully in preparation for this step. An outward sign reflecting their inner disposition is the wearing of the black clerical shirt.

This took place on the 14th of November 1995 before Archbishop Barry James Hickey presiding at St Gerard Majella Church, Mirrabooka.
